Breakfast with Bodo’s
If you’re a morning person, you’re in luck! If you’re not, you’ll definitely want to try and set your alarm just a wee bit early to get in on the Bodo’s Bagels action. Lines may be long, but that only proves how amazing the food is! And hey, just in case you really can’t get out of bed just yet, we can deliver ‘em to you.
Get a history lesson in
Work off breakfast as you stroll through Monticello, the famous former home of Thomas Jefferson. Walk the grounds with views of the beautiful, breathtaking Blue Ridge mountains as your backdrop. Then, get some knowledge dropped on you inside the presidential library and museum.
After an educational morning, wind down a bit at one of Charlottesville’s many wineries. Fun fact: Charlottesville’s region grows about 30 different varieties of grapes and you can enjoy them all in the form of the heavenly nectar known as wine. Not sure which winery to choose? Maybe this Groupon to Cross Keys Vineyards can help you make up your mind.
Let’s go to the mall!
No, not the mall with the food court, we’re talking about the Historic Downtown Mall! This pedestrian mall houses 120 shops as well as 30 restaurants! You can find something to interest and entertain everyone in the group from local artisan shops to sophisticated sips at places like The Whiskey Jar.
If your visit finds you towards the end of the week, why not take advantage of a few of Charlottesville’s best summer events? Every Thursday, you can catch a concert with Thursday Evening Sunset Series at Chiles Family Orchards. Will the grill and the tunes going until 9pm, all you need to bring with you is a cozy blanket to lie on! If you’re hanging out on a Friday, find your way over to the Fridays After Five concert series on the Downtown Mall.
And now for a nightcap
End your day with a craft cocktail at Oakhart Social. Reminisce back on the memories you have made with a drink concocted from some of the city’s best mixologists!
Enjoy your stay! Next stop… Providence!
